Dining for Friends (DFF) began in 1989 as a fundraiser for Triad Health Project (THP) just as the full impact of the AIDS epidemic was being felt in this community. Party hosts held dinner parties on one evening in exchange for a contribution to THP from their guests. Twenty-eight years later, the concept of DFF has been copied by nonprofits nationwide.
Today, DFF represents a whole season of caring, with parties running from April to late June. Individuals, couples, groups, businesses, churches, and schools come together for dinner parties of all types, game nights, wine tastings, and so much more. The sky is the limit, and hosts are encouraged to do whatever they already enjoy to bring friends together—but to do it with the goal of raising HIV/AIDS awareness and vital funding for THP.
So what do you love to do? Who do you like to hang out with? Turn your anniversary party, poetry slam, golf outing, Friday wine evening with friends, or any gathering into an easy, fun way to benefit people in our community living with HIV/AIDS.
You and your guests will receive complimentary tickets to this year's Dining for Friends Dessert Finale at the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, where you'll be treated to fabulous desserts by Cheesecakes by Alex, great music from local favs, Low Key, dancing and a cash bar.
